Butter sides of saucepan. Combine sugar, salt, syrup and vinegar in pan. Cook to 250 degrees (hard ball stage). Remove from heat. Wait 1 minute, add vanilla. Cool briefly. Pour contents over the popped popcorn. Shape into balls. Keep hands well buttered during the process of forming the balls. The mixture will be very hot! Makes 15-20 popcorn balls. |
