National Fudge Day

0 Comments | posted on June 14, 2010 in Candy, Fun Stuff

It’s the happiest day of the year for chocoholics – National Fudge Day is June 16th! It is the day to indulge in your love of chocolate, peanut butter, white chocolate and so much more. We have been melting, mixing and whipping up batches of our famous homemade fudge for just the occasion.

Did you know fudge was first made by accident? I wish all my accidents tasted that good! Most stories claim that the first batch of fudge resulted from an accident with a bungled (“fudged”) batch of caramels, when the sugar was allowed to recrystallize; hence the name from the interjection, “Oh fudge!”

How To Store Popcorn

Now you have a big bag of popcorn from MOM and POPcorn and want to know how to store it so it stays fresh. We have come up with a list of tips and tricks to help you keep you popcorn fresh and delicious as long as possible.

  1. – Store the popcorn in an airtight container. We suggest one of our fun popcorn tins!
    – Avoid keeping the popcorn in the refrigerator. Some people like the taste of cold popcorn but many refrigerators contain a little     moisture and can dry out the kernels.
    – Don’t expose the popcorn to extreme weather conditions for long periods of time, such as leaving it in the car or outside.
    – Do not open the package until you are ready to eat it.

Store popcorn you have already opened for one to two weeks. Keep unopened popped popcorn for up to two to three months.

Happy eating!
